Chapter 4 : What is Goddess?
Chapter 4 : What Is Goddess?
Christian and other Abrahamic faiths have been trying to make goddess nonexistent for centuries. Our society is a patriarchy. The Goddess can be seen as a single being or as a polytheistic way as in many separate goddess. You can see her as many faces but all one being. You can also see her as the thought form. Being energy created by the thoughts of many people over time, or as an archetype.

Chapter 3 : What Was Magick To You Before Reading?
This question brings me back to my childhood. I think of Faeries, Trolls, Witches, Warlocks, Elves, Dwarfs, Griffins, any mythical creature that come to mind. Also I think of spells, rituals, curses and potions , pretty much anything on disney channel during halloween and wizards of waverly place. My childhood revolved around all things Magick inspired :) I was so determined to find magic growing up it was crazy, I wish I could tell 8 year old me to stop looking and just believe ... now flash back to present me I have a better understanding of magick . " Magick is defined as a science an art of causing change to occur in conformity with will" a quote by Aleister Crowley. From what I understand magick all depends on you path and who you are entirely. For witches magick is mostly spells and rituals also worshipping the divine , and willing for wishes to come true. Theres more to it like working with crystals and crafting its self but that will all be covered later in this book as I learn and continue on my journey. Mythical Creature and Realms will also be covered later on because I do not fully understand them and their existence yet.
-How To Plan A Spell-
1.Every time you plan a spell you must think what is my will?
2.How will I perform my spell? (crystals,herbs,etc)
3.How do I want this change?
4.Is my will and intentions strong enough to manifest this spell?
Remember to take notes or record data , Everytime you perform a spell or ritual
!Act Like Your A Scientist!
*Moon phase *Time of Day *Colors of Candles
*Herbs * Crystals * Words Uses
No Skipping Steps!
Visualizing is everything!!! :) :)

Chapter 2 : What Is A Witch?
Aleister Crowley
I learned that anyone can be a witch, Witchcraft is a practice. The Knowledge of herbs, crystals, and healing was a norm for witches or a wise village person.
Gerald Gardner
(1884-1964)
An English civil servant, amateur anthropologist, writer, and occultist. He was the instrumental founding in wicca and neopaganism. Dubbed by press as " Britain's Chief Witch " and described by others as the " Father of Modern Wicca". He was initiated into the New Forest Coven which was a continuation of European Paganism. Coven leader was Dorothy Clutterbuck " Old Dorothy" under his craft name "Scrine" he published many books. He later was initiated into Aleister Crowley's coven " Ordo Templi Orientis" Crowley was originally in the first covens of New Forest. After the repeal of witchcraft laws in England (1951) he started his own coven and met Doreen Valiente and initiated her into his coven. She became his greatest asset. She helped him expand his book of shadows as well as helped him weed out all of Crowley's blackened material and put more emphasis on Goddess worship. Ultimately establishing a new working practice and coherent system known as today's leading wicca traditions ( Garderian Wicca) .
Doreen Valiente
(1922-1999)
A member and later high priestess of an early wiccan coven, led by Gerald Gardner. She is referred to as " Mother of Modern Witchcraft". Unlike Gardner she believed in Secrecy of the Covens. She also believed that the future of paganism and neo-paganism lies in feminism and environmentalism. Born as Doreen Edith Dominy in South London 1/4/1922. She was the daughter of christian parents. Convinced at an early age she possessed magick. She experienced her first spiritual contact staring at the moon ( Age 7) Then began practicing simple magick at 13. Her parents were not happy and sent her to a convent at 15, She became more aware of her psychic abilities and began to study occult material including Charles Godfrey Leland, Aleister Crowley, and Margret Murray. Her craft name Ameth. She helped formulate the wiccan rede.
The Wiccan Rede ( Full Version)
Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.
For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.
Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.
Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.
When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.
Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.
Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's
insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.
Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.
Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.
Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.
Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.
As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.
When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.
Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.
In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.
Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.
Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.
With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.
Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.
These Eight words the Rede fulfill:
"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.
For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.

Chapter 1 : What is Wicca?
Tuesday , September 6th 2016
Today I start my year and a day journey into wicca. I bought a beginners guide written by Lady Nephthys called " Wicca: A Year and a Day in Magick". The first chapter was on What is Wicca? I learned what the basis of wicca is and what I am going to have to study. I also learned that solitary practice is equal to being in a coven. Wicca is a branch of paganism and witchcraft is a practice and not a religion. The first question I was asked in the book was What brought you to Wicca? The reason I was draw to wicca was when I use to go to church when I was little I never believed in what they said, I believed in spirits and faeries. Magickal wands, herbs, animals were your friends and every little thing matter to nature, it had an outcome. I believed in karma and I believed in equality, boys and girls were both special in different ways. You could be different and be accepted that's what brought me to wicca. The second question I was asked was What did you know about wicca before reading ? I didnt know very much about wicca but I did know that wiccan believe in gods and goddesses. Also crystals & herbs can be healing and they have meanings. Animals are friends & guides. Praise the Moon & the Sun. Dreams have meaning,

"Introduction"
Hello my fellow witches my name is Anne Poole but you may call me by my craft name Aiena which is pronounced like the Celtic name Aina ( I-Nuh) which means Joy , I will explain later on the origins of my craft name. I consider myself an Eclectic Witch I do not consider myself a wiccan or pagan because my practice doesn't come for one religion or craft it is formed from many branches. I also consider myself a Natural born witch from a very young age I believed in faeires and mythical creatures. Trees and Flowers were my friends and I would speak to them. Many of my imaginary friends where friendly spirits but Ive also ran into my fair share of not so friendly spirits. I will go on more about spirits later on as well. I was raised in a Christian/ Methodist family, I always knew that it wasn't my path, I never believed in one true god . To me there was always multiple deities who guided me , I may not always known who they were or how to thank and worship them but they were there :) I am Currently 17 years of age and living in New England with my dad and step-mom who is a solitary pagan. We have Two cats, Molly and Waldo. We also have a Siberian Husky named Sadie. I currently am working as a Part-Time sales associate for FiveBelow and in my spare time I run a Small Jewelry Business with my step mom. She designs and makes Healing jewelry out of Authentic Gemstones and Glass-beads. We also make runes, staffs, wands and other magickal tools. The reason I decided to convert my Book Of Shadows into a blog is because I noticed there is not many BOS on the internet for young solitary witches like myself to use as reference, which is sad considering how large the Magickal community on the internet has gotten. So I started my online BOS sometimes you have to take charge and be a trend setter :) :) Well that is my Introduction I hope whoever views my Book Of Shadows finds it useful and it helps them achieve what they desire, SO BLESSED BE ...
